Mr. Wayne Harper, 6th grade special education teacher, was recently selected by his peers as Teacher of the Year for Red Bud Middle School.  A colleague proudly shares, “Wayne makes the extra effort to connect with those students who do not seem to ‘click’ with anyone.  He ALWAYS finds the positive in a situation and works with students to make sure they know they have a support system at our school that starts with him.”  In addition to serving as a co-teacher in 6th grade math, Mr. Harper also assists as coach with the girls’ basketball team and leads the Red Bud tennis team as head coach.  Principal, Amy Stewart, states, “It is obvious Mr. Harper has an excellent rapport with all people, especially his students.  His ability to connect to students who struggle to learn is superior.  Their response to Mr. Harper, in part, is because of the care and positive attitude he consistently exhibits.”  Congratulations to Mr. Harper on this well-deserved honor.
